Artworks 2013 - 2016
Around 2011, I began to work again with the knitted materials, specifically crochet. The first time I worked with this material was in the mid-1990s. In 2015, I’ve begun to see mandalas in crochet. Mandala is a geometric figure representing the universe in Hindu and Buddhist symbolism. Mandala is a visual manifestation of the universe. Mandala comes from Sanskrit meaning "circle." A concentric structure of crochet has been incorporated as a visual manifestation of a domesticated mandala and my homage to unrecognized female labor.
"Venus of Willendorf " is a series of works spun off from "Life_Self-organizing" which began more than 20 years ago when I had just started to witness how life on earth sustains itself through the relationship/system called the pattern of interconnectedness. It didn’t have any specific title for my work then as I was in the beginning stage of wonder and searching for more answers. Although all phenomena are of my interest, light/color and space/void have been the core of my interest.

"Light" is a medium. Colors are never absolute. Physical light is always one of the important media in my work. With the physical light added to my work, the colors arrive at their complete status.
